About Us

Asansol Burdwan Seva Kendra (ABSK) is the Social Service Society of the Catholic Diocese of Asansol, instituted in 1998 to uplift those left behind in the society. Its area of operation consists of Purbo Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, Bankura, Bhirbum, Murshidabad, Nadia and in Malda districts.

Charity for Education

ABSK is providing formal or informal education for the poor and marginalized children through schools, brick field schools and coaching centers.


ABSK has been focused on creating opportunities for backward sections, especially for the women through implementing livelihood projects.

Health and Sanitation:

As based on the concept of “Swach Bharat Mission”, ABSK is concerned about the village level sanitation, along with focusing proper health and hygiene practices.

Child Rights:

ABSK is working for promotion of child rights of the Children in need of care and protection.ABSK is stretching hand towards the distress children to meet their basic rights.

Sustainable Agriculture:

Though organic way of agriculture is now a major concerned of the agronomical department, so keeping it in mind ABSK is implementing various sustainable techniques of organic cultivation.


ABSK is supporting the rural people to promote solar energy, eco farming, and organic farming and creates various water conservation structures to raise the level of surface water.
