Who We Are

Asansol Burdwan Seva Kendra (ABSK) is the Social Service Society formed in the year 1998 to uplift those who are left behind in the society and to assist the distressed people of the society, who are in need. The organization is registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI 1961, 1999-2000 and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act in the year 1999.
In the years of its existence Asansol Burdwan Seva Kendra has been providing social and humanitarian services to the poor and marginalized sections of the society in collaboration with National and International organizations. Asansol Burdwan Seva Kendra has been working in 7 districts reaching people in 4,124 villages of 86 blocks, 712 panchayats, reaching out to 12,500 households touching the lives of almost 68,500 people through various projects related to Agriculture, Promotion of Child rights and ensuring child protection, Women empowerment, Education, Livelihood, Community health, HIV/AIDS, Strengthening CBOs, Natural resource management, Promoting renewable energy options and Capacity building and thus reaching out the marginalized communities.

Our coverage area is predominantly rural with 80% of the population living in villages. Apart from the indigenous tribal, our target people consist of all needy and marginalized individuals/communities, belonging to various sections of our society in the rural as well as urban areas of the Catholic Diocese of Asansol.

Area of Intervention

Purbo Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, Bankura, Bhirbum , Murshidabad, Nadia and Malda districts of West Bengal .
